Dress Code

Student Testing

Please note the following information regarding our student dress code at C.W. Harris Elementary.  All C. W. Harris students are required to wear the designated school uniform.  Uniforms are required for fieldtrips, participation in an after school performance/event and school sponsored summer events.

 

Bottoms:  

  • Pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, and capris must be solid colors:khaki, navy blue, or blue jeans.
  • Jeans must be solid colored with NO holes, rips, or designs on them.
  • Sweatpants may only be solid navy blue
  • The length of shorts, skorts, skirts or jumpers will be no more than 5 inches above the knee.
  • Black bottoms are not allowed
  • Spandex shorts and sweat shorts are not allowed.
  • No baggy or oversized uniforms are acceptable. Sagging of pants or shorts will not be permitted. Uniforms must be no more than one size larger than what is appropriate for his/her size. Uniforms that are tight or form fitting are also not allowed.
  • Tights and leggings may be worn in cold weather UNDER appropriate uniform bottoms and must follow uniform guidelines as far as color – SOLID navy blue, or SOLID black.

    Tops:

  • Collared, plain polo shirts (white, light blue, navy blue, and maroon) and C.W. Harris tee shirts. No tee shirts that are not C.W. Harris shirts may be worn.
  • No logos on shirts
  • No button down shirts/dress shirts or blouses are allowed.
  • Undershirts must be solid white, light blue, navy blue, or maroon.
  • Tank tops, spaghetti straps, strapless, sleeveless, and low cut shirts are not permitted.
  • SWEATSHIRTS have to have NO hood, or if it is a zipped jacket, the hood must not be worn during school hours.

 

Headgear:

  • Bandanas, caps, hats, sunglasses and hairnets are not allowed at C.W. Harris. If your child must wear a hat or dark glasses for medical reasons, a note from the doctor is required and must be submitted to the administration.The note must include the length of time the hat needs to be worn as well as the reason.The hat is to be worn PROPERLY for the duration of need.The hat must be solid colored, plain, and without any logos.

     

    Shoes, Socks & Undergarments:

  • Socks must be worn and must be one color – white or blue. High striped or multi-colored socks will not be permitted.Only one pair of socks may be worn at a time.Multiple pairs or layers will not be permitted.
  • Students must wear covered shoes.Shoes must meet the P.E. safety requirements. Sandals, slippers, roller shoes/shoe skates, and flip-flops are not allowed.
  • Undergarments may not be showing.

 

Graffiti

Students are not allowed to write on any body part, school or personal property (i.e., folders, books, notebooks, agendas, etc.) Tattoos are not allowed.
